MidJourney Prompt

To add an image to a prompt, begin typing /imagine as usual. After the prompt box appears, drag the image file into the prompt box to add the image’s URL, or right-click and paste the link within the prompt box.

Parameters

Aspect Ratio

--aspect or --ar (example --ar 2:3 )

Chaos

--chaos <number 0–100> Changes how varied the results will be. Higher values produce more unusual and unexpected generations.

No

--no <word> exclude something specific from the images

Image Weight

--iw <0-2> (default value 1) For prompts that include URL to an image as well as some text, their relative weight can be adjusted.

For example setting --iw 2 would ask Midjourney to give twice as much importance to the images provided in the prompt than to the text.

Quality

--quality <.25, .5, or 1>, or --q <.25, .5, or 1> (default value 1) determines how much processing time or computing power is spent generating an image. Higher values use more GPU minutes (Basic Subscription includes 200 GPU minutes), lower values use less.

Seed

--seed <number between 0–4294967295> The algorithms within the midjourney model use a seed number to base their processing on. This seed number is a randomly generated number by default, feeding a custom seed number to the multiple prompts can result in similar looking images as a result.

Niji

--niji 5 This command activates a model collaboration between Midjourney and Spellbrush that is tuned to produce images with anime aesthetics.

Also try adding --style cute--style scenic--style original and --style expressive in addition to niji to add more fine-tuning to your desired aesthetic

Tile

--tile will generate an image that can be stacked with itself (like a tile) to create a seamless pattern.

Image Prompts

There are some rules to keep in mind when dealing with image prompts. Here are a few of those rules (as cited in the Official Documentation)

  • Image URLs must be at the start of the entire prompt.
  • Prompts must have two images or one image and text to work.
  • Your file should end in .png, .gif, .webp, .jpg, or .jpeg.
